Breakthrough Victoria's Platform stream explicitly invests in technology facilities, research platforms and research infrastructure rather than only equity, and its flagship example is the Jumar Bioincubator, a $30 million build of 25 self contained PC2 laboratories of 24 to 90 square metres across two floors of CSL's Melbourne Biomedical Precinct headquarters, seeded with $25 million from Breakthrough Victoria. The WA Government's proposed Western Defence Forge advanced defence manufacturing hub drew 179 expressions of interest from nine nations by its 8 July close, comprising 13 international defence primes, 28 international companies, 20 Australian companies and 118 WA based SMEs, across aerospace, autonomous systems, advanced materials, precision manufacturing, energetics and space. That volume of WA SMEs seeking a footprint in a single co located industrial ecosystem is a multi year pipeline of individually mid sized, technically demanding tenancy builds rather than one mega contract.
Telix opened Telix Manufacturing Solutions North Melbourne on 16 July 2026, a purpose built site combining radiochemistry laboratories, clinical product manufacturing, patient dose administration and imaging on one campus. It is the clearest completed proof point that Australian radiopharmaceutical work now bundles GMP hot cell manufacturing with clinical treatment space in a single fitout, which is the brief competitors will be asked to price for the next wave of sites.
Rinnai Australia is expanding its Braeside advanced manufacturing facility with Victorian Investment Fund support, securing 110 local jobs and increasing design and manufacture of energy efficient heating, cooling and hot water appliances. Rinnai runs 442 staff across three Victorian sites, so this is a live brownfield industrial expansion in Melbourne's south east with production and R&D content, which is the staging and services complexity Struxture sells against.
The NSW Protection from Harmful Radiation Regulation 2025 commenced on 29 August 2025, replacing the 2013 Regulation after review and increasing penalties for non-compliance. Every organisation responsible for a radiation practice in NSW must have a radiation management plan in place from 1 September 2026, which forces a documented review of shielding, room layout and controls across hospital imaging, nuclear medicine and radiotherapy estates within weeks of that deadline.
Dutch food group Farm Frites is building a $300 million potato processing plant and Asia Pacific headquarters at Dooen in the Wimmera Agriculture and Logistics Hub near Horsham, with planning fast tracked by the Victorian Government's Development Facilitation Program and operations targeted for 2027. The headline number is far above Struxture's ceiling, but the realistic 5 to 15 million sub packages inside it are the regional headquarters and administration building, the QA and food safety laboratory, staff amenities and the workshop and maintenance building, all of which are usually let separately from the process plant.
On 11 June 2026 the NRFC announced an additional 40 million for Silicon Quantum Computing on top of its original 20 million, specifically for the development and expansion of SQC's quantum chip manufacturing capability. SQC's PAQMan atomic precision process runs in a Sydney R and D and manufacturing lab of over 100 staff, so expansion means additional ISO class cleanroom, vibration isolated slabs and ultra high vacuum services.
The Victorian Investment Fund is the state's current investment attraction instrument, replacing the older Made in Victoria grant suite as the main lever, with $150 million total and a dedicated $50 million regional stream targeting advanced manufacturing and defence, health technologies, digital, agribusiness and circular economy. Named recipients so far (Rinnai at Braeside, Tongala Nutrition, IDT Australia at Boronia) are all facility upgrades in the $4 million to $15 million construction band, which makes the recipient list the single best rolling lead source in Victoria for Struxture.
